ND Filters and Knowledge Centre

An ND filter reduces incoming light so you can use a slower shutter for video in bright conditions. The Knowledge Centre pairs a model-aware calculator with guides explaining how camera and flight choices work.

Calculate for your shoot

Select a supported DJI drone, a frame rate from 24 to 120 FPS and lighting such as sun, cloud, shade or golden hour. The calculator uses the 180-degree shutter guideline to show a target shutter speed and an ND filter range, accounting for supported camera lenses and apertures.

Learn the reason behind the number

Knowledge Centre guides cover exposure fundamentals including ISO, shutter, aperture, colour and ND or polarising filters, alongside aircraft safety topics. Use the guidance to understand when the target motion blur suits your footage.

Test the actual exposure

Filter suggestions are ranges, not measurements from your live camera. Check the image and histogram on site; if clouds move in or you change frame rate, recalculate and adjust the physical filter.

Access and limitations

The in-app Knowledge Centre and calculator require a subscription. Public flying articles remain available without one.
