Drone Weather for Flight Planning

Drone Companion combines a three-day hourly forecast with conditions relevant to your selected aircraft. Surface wind alone cannot tell you what the drone may encounter above the takeoff point.

Wind where you fly

Compare wind speed, gusts and direction at 30, 60, 90 and 120 metres. The flying-conditions assessment also considers your selected drone's wind rating, so a forecast is interpreted against an aircraft rather than a threshold you guessed.

Rain and the flight window

Explore hourly conditions across today and the next two days, plus a precipitation radar to view reported precipitation and its movement. Radar coverage and timing depend on the provider; use it alongside the forecast and conditions at your location. Temperature, daylight and the KP index add context when choosing a time to fly.

How the readings are checked

WeatherAPI.com is the primary weather source; OpenWeather readings provide a cross-check for wind and gusts and can supply fallback data when needed. The app handles discrepancies instead of assuming one feed is always right.

Access and limitations

The subscribed weather tool needs a connection. Winds aloft are estimates, radar and forecasts depend on providers, and no favourable assessment guarantees safe conditions at takeoff.
